Changsha Fabu | 09 24, 2025

Liuyang will host a world-class fireworks festival this October. Highlights include a Guinness World Record attempt with 10,000 drone-launched fireworks. Spectators can enjoy a seamless day-to-night experience with large-scale daytime pyrotechnics and a groundbreaking 160-meter fireworks tower show that pushes visual creativity to its limits. The event also features live performances from stars like Tia Ray, Chow Wai, Ulan Tuya, and the RaceBace band, creating an energizing atmosphere by the Liuyang River.

The 17th Liuyang Fireworks Cultural Festival is set for October 24 and 25, 2025. According to the organizing committee, this is not a regular weekend show but a top-level event that will gather the world's latest creative ideas, products, and cutting-edge technologies in the pyrotechnics industry.

Themed "A Date in Light Years," the festival innovatively introduces six main events to spotlight Liuyang's millennium-old culture as a priceless treasure, ignite its booming ten-billion-yuan industry, a key driver of local prosperity, and unleash a spectacular pyrotechnics economy. The organizing committee notes that this year's event, building on a 16-year foundation of hosting the festival, will place a greater emphasis on international appeal, technological innovation, and cultural atmosphere. By integrating fireworks, which serve as a dynamic medium, with areas including cultural tourism and digital technology, the event is expected to propel the fireworks economy into a new stage of growth.

Six main events will be held, including the opening ceremony and fireworks gala, which is scheduled for the evening of October 24 at the Liuyang Sky Theater. The events will focus on "Fireworks + Technology" and "Fireworks + Culture" to create an immersive, landmark "Fireworks Spring Festival Gala." On the evening of October 25, the 6th Liuyang Fireworks Competition (LFC) will gather six top-level international pyrotechnic teams from Sweden, Hungary, Japan, the USA, Slovenia, and Belgium, who will jointly create an event known as the "Oscar of Fireworks, the World Cup of Pyrotechnics."

It is learned that several concurrent events will also be held during the cultural festival. These include a New Products and Creative Ideas Competition, which will showcase innovative and environmentally friendly fireworks from around the world to herald a new chapter in green pyrotechnics; the "Listening to the Sound of Blossoms" daytime fireworks display, which will create a stunning spectacle by harmoniously blending colored smoke with the natural backdrop of mountains, water, and the city; the "A Firework Belonging to Me" online fireworks festival, designed to deliver an imaginative and novel digital fireworks experience; and the "Fireworks Illuminating a New Future for Culture and Tourism" summit, which will feature case studies on integrating fireworks into scenic spots and explore new approaches to blending pyrotechnics with tourism.

On October 24 and 25,

Liuyang, the "Capital of World Fireworks,"

will define ultimate romance with its finest pyrotechnics.

For every traveler, from near and far,

will find meaning of the trip as the sky illuminates.
