Secretary Shen warmly welcomed all distinguished guests on behalf of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and the People's Government of Hunan Province. He emphasized that artificial intelligence (AI), driven by the rapid development of the internet and breakthroughs in next-generation information technologies, is ushering in a new wave of development. With its strong scientific and technological innovation capacity, rich talent resources, solid infrastructure, diverse application scenarios, and a strong ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship, Hunan is fully confident in seizing the opportunities brought by AI advancement.

Secretary Shen noted that the "AI Plus" initiative serves as a crucial driving force for Hunan's sustained efforts to build itself as a national hub for advanced manufacturing, a sci-tech and innovation center with core competitiveness, and a pacesetter for reform and the opening-up of China's inland regions. It will further contribute to cultivating new quality productive forces and achieving high-quality development. Hunan will adopt an application-oriented approach and identify the right path and focus efforts precisely, prioritizing the application of "AI Plus" in fields such as scientific research, industrial development, consumption upgrading, public well-being, and governance capacity enhancement. The province is committed to accelerating the implementation of the "AI Plus" initiative and fostering collaboration with all stakeholders to jointly develop Hunan into a new hub for "AI Plus".

Centering on the theme "AI Navigating the Way, Envisioning Xiangjiang," the summit explored topics including AI, global R&D center city development, and innovation and entrepreneurship among university students. The event comprised an opening ceremony, the Yuelu Forum, and more than ten specialized sub-forums. It brought together academicians, experts, leading entrepreneurs, and young innovators to discuss the future of AI development. The opening ceremony also featured the release of the Annual Report on Changsha's Development as a Global R&D Center City, the Annual Report on Innovation and Entrepreneurship among Hunan's College Students, and a series of exemplary AI industry models.
Wang Yaonan, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), Fang Rong, chairperson of ZTE Corporation, Li Zexiang, professor from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and Li Haitao, dean of the Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business, made keynote speeches. Entrepreneurs such as Xu Zhijun, rotating chairperson of Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., Liu Qingfeng, chairperson of iFLYTEK Co., Ltd., Ye Guobiao, chairperson of Shanghai Securities News, and Xiong Xiaoge, chairman and founding partner of IDG Capital, attended.
Wu Guiying, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and secretary of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee, gave a speech. Provincial leaders Cao Zhiqiang and Wang Junshou; Yi Hong, secretary of the CPC Central South University Committee; CAE academicians Liu Zhonghua, Li Keqiang, and Bai Lianyang; Huang Jianlong, academician of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering; and relevant responsible comrades from the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology were also present.
