From September 26th to October 4th, the first season of the 2022 Changsha Opera enters the Campus and the First Campus Drama and Cultural Festival was held for 6 consecutive days, nearly 300 children from various primary schools in the city performed the children's song and dance myth drama "Classic of Mountains and Seas" for more than 3,000 audiences.
The giant country, the mermaid country, the dwarf country, the long-legged country, the long-armed country, the one-eyed country, the big-eared country (where people's ears need to be held up by both hands)... The children's song and dance mythological play "Classic of Mountains and Seas" opens with a unique and beautiful ancient myth scroll. The main plot revolves around the myth of Kuafu chasing the sun and Houyi shooting the sun. In the end, in order to save the common people, the people of the mermaid country, the mermaid princess, used her tears to nourish the earth, and all the people of the Nine Continents cooperated to become giants, all the people of the long-legged country, the long-armed country, the one-eyed country, and the big-eared country became the legs, hands, eyes, and ears of Houyi’s descendants... Together, they wrote a heroic epic that is both sad and joyful, and finally brought order to the day and night and restored peace to the Nine Continents.
The children performing "Classic of Mountains and Seas" on stage come from schools such as West Lake Bocai Primary School, Changsha Experimental Primary School, Fengshushan Lotus Lake Primary School, Zhounan Meixi Lake Primary School, Cogdel Cranleigh School, Bocai Golden Eagle Primary School, Changsha Experimental Primary School Meixi Lake Campus, and Lingyun Primary School.
Head of the Green Sprouts Project, Shu Ning, introduced that the traditional spirit of the drama industry is "one dish", which means that all personnel must cooperate closely to perform a play well. Therefore, participating in drama activities is a vivid collective education in itself. "Participating in drama activities can expand children's horizons, explore their own strengths, and also be beneficial for future life planning and career development," Shu Ning said. The exhibition activities opened a window of art for children and hopes to better protect children's healthy and interesting souls and never-ending childhood.
