On November 15, Changsha Municipal Bureau of Natural Resources and Planning launched the “Changsha Child-friendly City Paper Cup Design Event”.
The concept of “Child-friendly City” was initiated by UNICEF. In the last six years, Changsha has integrated the “Child-friendly City” goal into its urban planning, formulated a three-year action plan (2018-20), and yielded fruitful results in the fields of children’s health, education, welfare, protection and environment…From the introduction of the first official white paper on “Child-friendly City” construction in China, to the preparation of a child-friendly microspace cases collection and from the formulation of children’s council cultivation plan to the organization of a series of including the “city + public class” and “light up the child-friendly community”, Changsha has been listening to children’s needs and nurturing their growth.
In 2020, Changsha took the lead in building the “Child-friendly Industry Chain” in China, to inspire and mobilize the private sector to do more for children.
World Children’s Day is approaching, and on this special day, Changsha will once again light up the blue light to deliver a child-friendly message. In addition, the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) will celebrate World Children’s Day online.
