Resident Artists Explore Changsha, Old and New

长沙市媒体艺术发展中心 | 11 15, 2021

On November 10, the first day of the 2021 “C+C” Media Arts Residency Programme, eight young artists explored Tianxin District of Changsha, a City of Media Arts. Their destinations include Taiping Street, Taipingli Community, Advance Art Museum, Tianxin District Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center, Fire God Palace Restaurant, Pozi Street, Wenmiaoping, Tianxin Pavilion, and Changsha Jiandu Museum.

Tianxin District embodies the city’s history and modernity. With a history of over 3,000 years, it is home to more than 60 percent of the city’s historical and cultural heritage sites. It also accommodates new industries such as trade and logistics, modern finance, cultural and creative industries, healthcare, tourism and leisure, headquarters economy, building economy, new energy equipment, and modern service.

The visit to Tianxin District is for artists to explore a unique Changsha, so as to better combine the international vision and local experiences, and to explore the cultural translation in their creations.
