Changsha, an Upcoming First-tier City in Digital Economy

On September 6, CCID Research Center of Digital Economy Industry released the “White Paper on the Development of China’s Digital Economy in 2021”. Changsha ranked 12th in the “Top 100 cities in Digital Economy in 2021”.
  
  The white paper shows that from the coast to the vast hinterland, digital economy is developing rapidly in China. Six central provincial capital cities including Changsha, Wuhan, Hefei are emerging into the digital economy system, creating a “Digital Economy Belt in Central China”.
  
  In recent years, Changsha has grabbed the opportunities to boost the development of “Internet Plus” and the digital economy. In today’s digital era, Changsha spares no effort to boost the digital economy by transforming traditional industries with digital technologies and developing digital industry. By developing intelligent equipment, intelligent connected vehicles, intelligent terminals, and power chips, Changsha aims to cultivate a new competitive edge in the new round of industrial revolution.
  
  So far, the scale of Changsha’s digital economy has exceeded 100 billion yuan, accounting for nearly 30 percent of the province’s total. About 27 percent of its industries have been transformed with digital technologies, and its digital industry accounts for nearly half of the provincial total. In addition, a distinctive industrial pattern and competitive edge have taken shape in Changsha with its autonomous controllable computers, information security industry, new display parts and power semiconductors building up strength and electronic information leading the province.
