On the evening of July 11, the first Hunan Designers’ Art Exhibition kicked off at Songlan Art Museum. The exhibition invited more than 60 interior designers, landscape designers, display and installation designers, and graphic designers, displaying nearly 100 artworks in various forms.

Featuring characteristics of Chinese art and creativity, the displayed artworks include Chinese brush painting (Yang Lingzhi), Chinese painting (Chen Xin), oil painting (Fu Zhongcheng), watercolor (Huang Zhizhong), calligraphy (Wang Suxiang), printmaking (Wang Liangbin), photography (Zhuang Jing), acrylic painting (Liu Meng), ceramics (Bao Yu), sculpture (Zhang Zhiquan), etc., providing a feast of art.

Fu Zhongcheng, Executive Chairman of the Hunan Institute of Interior Design (HIID), points out that modern design is a highly comprehensive art discipline and thus requires highly versatile designers. These artworks demonstrate not only the professional skills of the artists but also their creativity and aesthetics.

Qiu Songlan, the curator of the exhibition, says that by joining hands with the top designers in Hunan Province, the exhibition aims to express the zeitgeist and the passions of life. He hopes that this event will be held regularly to provide more opportunities for young artists and designers to showcase their work. Exhibitions, art exchanges, public education, and other programs can be adopted to enhance the interaction between the public and artists, designers, and architects, cultivating the public’s appreciation of art.

The exhibition was sponsored by the HIID and co-organized by the Painting and Calligraphy Art Committee of the HIID and Songlan Art Museum.
