Jinju opens Call for Papers for the “International Journal of Crafts and Folk Art”

Recognizing the importance of Crafts and Folk Art in building sustainable and resilient cities, the UNESCO Creative City of Jinju (Republic of Korea), foresees to publish the second edition of the “International Journal on Crafts and Folk Art” in December 2021. The focus topic of this edition will be on “Creative Transmission and Industrialization of Traditional Crafts”.

In connection to the Journal, the city is inviting interested participants to submit academic papers, short articles, news and book reviews on topics related to crafts and folk art including those on creative transmission of crafts and folk art, intangible heritage, and ways to foster creative industries for sustainable urban development.

The first edition of the Journal launched in December 2020 aimed at strengthening international cooperation between Creative Cities of Crafts and Folk Art and contributing to achieving sustainable urban development. Following the success of this edition that gathered contributions from six Creative Cities, the second edition will not only aim to strengthen relationships between cities, but will also strive to highlight and empower cultural diversity within the creative field of Crafts and Folk Art.

Interested participants are welcomed to submit their research and academic papers by 31 October 2021. For further details, kindly read the supplementary document.
