On 2 October, Parma (Italy), a Creative City of Gastronomy, organized ‘The excellence of Made in Italy and the recovery of the territories’ symposium, in collaboration with the city of Como (Italy), a candidate city of Crafts and Folk Art.

Hosted as part of  the “Mercanteinfiera”, an international fair dedicated to modernism, antiques and collectables, the symposium explored the synergies and interactions between different creative fields, namely gastronomy and textile crafts and their role in the recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. Built around the themes ‘Creative Cities, made in Italy and cultural heritage’ and ‘Sustainable future and the new alliance between textile artisans and chefs’     , the forum emphasized the role of Italian cultural heritage and creative industries in urban resilience.

Through this discussion platform, Parma contributed to nurturing creative synergies between member cities and the implementation of the UCCN objectives, leveraging the value of the ‘Made in Italy’ designation and its key sectors to sustainably develop resilient communities.      .
