On the evening of May 21st, Changsha impressed the world with “Original Changsha Cultural Show” during the opening ceremony of the IYF2.
“It is very special!” Jalil, a youth from Azerbaijan was astonished to see such an age-old city energized by technology, “It is a show featuring loads of Changsha elements. You can’t find it anywhere else.” He thought highly of this show, saying it was a marvelous combination of creativity, technology and culture.
The Original Changsha Cultural Show was a multimedia digital show featuring the history, present and future of Changsha. It was divided into four scenes: Lu, representing Yuelu Mountain and Xiang River where Changsha people originated as well as Yuelu Academy which was renowned as one of the four most prestigious academies in ancient China; Jiang, embodying the spirits of Changsha craftsmanship in the past and now; Yun, featuring Changsha’s local life and Xiang, featuring Changsha’s historical alley. 5D spatial arts were applied along with mobile LED ice screens, holographic silk screen, mobile light boxes, multimedia miniature showcases to enhance real-time experience. Relics from Changsha Ma wangdui tomb archaeological site including round-backed armchair, Plain unlined gauze gown, ceramics were reproduced using multimedia techniques.
