On the morning of May 22nd, the international youth forum on creativity and heritage along the silk road was officially launched in Changsha. Mr Gao Shan, member of the standing committee of the CPC and director-general of Changsha publicity department, Ms. Marielza Oliveira, Representative and Director of UNESCO Beijing office, Mr. Philippe Sueur, Mayor of Enghien-Les-Bains France, and Mr. Nigel Ayre, York City councilor, respectively talked with the youth representatives on the scene about the topic of “innovation drives development”. Shen yubiao, director of science and culture department in the China National Commission for UNESCO, hosted the forum.

Youth is the future of the world and the hope of development. 73 young representatives from 51 countries along the “Belt and road” countries, who grew up in different regions and received different cultural education from their childhood. In a modern world where everything is interconnected ever more closely, if we could make young people from different cultures getting along with each other more harmoniously and promoting prosperity and development together, this will be the significance of the forum.
